Nutrition for Cricket Performance, Recovery and Injury/Illness Prevention
摘要
Nutrition requirements for cricket players vary based on numerous factors. Age, stage of development, workload, role in the team, injury status and body composition goals all impact. To assist in optimising cricket performance, players should ensure both macro and micronutrient requirements are met. Hydration status will also impact both physical and mental performance, and an individualised approach should be applied. Nutrition can impact injury and illness risk and can assist with injury rehabilitation and return to play. Travel for matches and tournaments is common, and time spent planning how nutrition goals will be met during transit and at the destination will help to reduce the risk of any food and fluid-borne illness and ensure performance is maximised. Supplements and sports food use should be individualised and advice sought from an accredited sports dietitian/nutritionist or sports physician to help ensure efficacy and safety.
