International Relations is a multidisciplinary academic domain focused on the political dynamics between countries. Previously, our discussions have centered on issues framed within national contexts; however, we will now shift our focus to international relations as they pertain to challenges that transcend national boundaries—commonly referred to as global issues. In the realm of global issues, the international norms established by dominant states may not always be applicable, leading to potential conflicts regarding what is deemed a legitimate resolution in international relations. This often results in visible disputes between established norms and alternative perspectives. From here, I will explore three significant global issues: environmental challenges, human rights concerns, and technological advancements, providing detailed analyses for each. This chapter will discuss international relations and global environmental challenges.
