External stimuli-based drug delivery system is the most upcoming prominent approach of drug delivery system for the treatment of cancers in the form of transdermal drug delivery system, hyperthermia-based drug delivery mechanisms and theranostic approaches of thermal ablation for the deposition of drug delivery (Mi et al. 2020). This mechanism involves the local application of external stimuli maintained either at high or low temperatures for better efficacy towards tumour reduction by apoptosis and reducing the spread of cancerous tissues throughout the system (Shi et al. 2017).
