To ensure the effective implementation of function and reliability (F&R) flight tests for civil aircraft, and to meet the requirements of CCAR-21 and relevant airworthiness regulations, this paper analyzes and researches the planning, testing techniques, and content of F&R flight tests for civil airliners. These methods have been applied and validated in the F&R flight tests of models that are already in commercial operation, providing robust technical support for obtaining the type certificate. The results indicate that the overall planning method for these flight tests is highly applicable in engineering practice, offering valuable insights and references for conducting F&R flight tests on other civil aircraft in the future. This has significant guiding and referential value for the implementation of F&R flight tests.
