The KIDS-APEC Pharmacovigilance (PV) Center of Excellence (CoE) Training, hosted by the Korea Institute of Drug Safety and Risk Management (KIDS), has played a pivotal role in advancing regulatory convergence in the Asia-Pacific region. Endorsed by the APEC Regulatory Harmonization Steering Committee (RHSC) in 2016 and formalized as a CoE in 2017, the programme provides comprehensive PV training to regulatory authorities across APEC economies. Developed in collaboration with the PV Working Group and aligned with the RHSC core curriculum, the training programme focuses on building in-field capacity through lectures and hands-on exercises that cover the full PV lifecycle—from adverse event reporting to benefit–risk assessment and communication. Between 2016 and 2024, more than 1050 regulators from 30 economies participated in the programme, contributing to enhanced knowledge exchange and regional cooperation. The CoE serves as a sustainable platform for strengthening PV systems and promoting global public health through continuous education, collaboration, and harmonization.
