Selection of the Multidisciplinary BIM Modeler: Using the CBA and Visual Integration Tool for Continuous Improvement

BIM methodology has improved communication and information management in building projects, however, only 36% of enterprises in Lima and Callao have adopt it, mainly large ones. Small and medium-sized Enterprises (SMEs) face barriers such as lack of demand, incompatibility with current processes and shortage of BIM training. This leads them to avoid its adoption, although BIM implementation in the Peruvian public sector requires preparation in this area. Is crucial to overcome resistance to BIM adoption. The methodology offers significant benefits, especially in the quality of information. For another instance, the selection process, is difficult to a new enterprise to select the best option for a new member of a Bim Modeler. This study proposes a guide to select a multidisciplinary Bim Modeler, using the Lean Construction Choosing By Advantages (CBA) tool. An evaluation table with eight key factors was developed, allowing the company to make an informed selection. The results show that more than 50% of professionals consider it necessary to implement BIM in SMEs, highlighting the effectiveness of CBA in decision making. Also, it proposes a method of Visual analysis with Power BI.
