Over recent years, the application of wireless sensor networks (WSNs) based on the Internet of Things (IoT) has expanded rapidly. These applications span a variety of fields, including but not limited to industrial automation, military operations, urban development, environmental surveillance, and healthcare services. A WSN comprises a multitude of small, battery-powered sensor nodes that persistently survey the environmental conditions and relay the gathered data to a sink, either through single-hop or multi-hop communication. The limited battery life of these sensor nodes, however, reduces the network longevity of WSNs, thus making energy consumption a pivotal concern for WSN applications [1].

摘要
