This chapter scrutinizes the complex coaction of disability rights and policy in Asian and African nations. It analyzes the historical development of international disability rights frameworks, highlighting their influence on national legislation. The study contrasts the progress made in several legal frameworks in Asian and African countries with the significant challenges remaining in implementation. These challenges include persistent societal stigma, inaccessible infrastructure, limited access to education and employment, and resource constraints. The paper emphasizes the importance of community-based rehabilitation (CBR), inclusive education, and accessible transportation in achieving meaningful inclusion for persons with disabilities (PwDs). Finally, it underscores the requisite for bespoke solutions that deliberate these regions’ inimitable cultural, socioeconomic, and infrastructural contexts to actualize disability rights and create fully inclusive societies.
