One of the primary responsibilities of private engineering institutions is to facilitate placements for their students. In West Bengal, several prominent private engineering colleges are recognized for their placement records, which greatly influence student admissions and the institution’s reputation. Consequently, every college strives to enhance its placement services. Each year, private engineering colleges in West Bengal produce numerous engineers and professionals. However, there remains a significant gap between the skills graduates possess and the job opportunities and corresponding salaries available to them. This survey aims to explore various research studies on predicting college placements and assesses the benefits and drawbacks of data classifier algorithms. Additionally, it proposes a roadmap for implementing data classifiers to improve future campus placements in West Bengal.
