The use of online voting is a growing phenomenon in present-day society, with significant potential to lower organizational expenses and enhance voter turnout. With the elimination of physical ballot papers and polling stations, individuals can conveniently cast their votes from any location with an internet connection. However, despite these advantages, there are concerns surrounding the use of online voting solutions as they introduce potential vulnerabilities that could result in widespread manipulation of votes. The transparency and security of electoral processes is a major concern. A single weakness in the system could have detrimental consequences on the integrity of elections. In this paper, we introduce a decentralized platform called “BlockBallot” where votes are cast as transaction on a blockchain. The immutable properties of blockchain along with the cryptographic function makes the system secure and tamper proof and scalable. The novelty of deigning a “BlockBallot” lies in its use as a blockchain-based e-voting platform as decentralized and tamper-proof solution, to enhance the security, transparency, and accessibility of the voting process which address the critical issues in traditional electoral process. It improves accountability and confirmation, regulates impartiality by smart contracts, strengthens security by cryptographic methods and can be independently verified by all stakeholders. This approach not only safeguards against fraud but also encourages voter confidence.

摘要
