A Study on Education System in India Pre- and Post-digitization
摘要
This paper presents a study on the educational system of India pre- and post-covid era. It compares the effect of digitization brought into the education system by the pandemic. The state-wise teacher-student ratio is taken as the feature for the study. The analysis of the data reveals a significant finding: the student–teacher ratio is a crucial factor influencing the clustering of the data. Over four consecutive years, a consistent pattern emerges, where ratios below 25 align with one cluster (labeled 0), while ratios above 25 align with another cluster (labeled 1). This trend highlights the pivotal role of the student–teacher ratio in shaping these distinct clusters. The dataset collected between 2018 and 2022 provides deep insights into the changing educational landscape. It captures not only immediate post-situation effects but also subsequent shifts in teacher and student numbers. This dynamic dataset reflects the changing student–teacher ratios across different Indian states due to varying student and teacher counts. The contrast in student–teacher ratios becomes evident when comparing pre-COVID and post-COVID educational scenarios. This shift reveals some states changing from stable ratios to fluctuating ratios, either during or after the COVID situation. This comprehensive study underscores the Indian states where the student–teacher ratio has notably varied, shedding light on transformations in the educational landscape during this critical period.
