Advancements in Intelligent Hydroponics Systems: A Comprehensive Review

Intelligent hydroponic systems have emerged as a cutting-edge approach to modern agriculture, offering precision control and real-time monitoring capabilities to optimize crop production in controlled environments. The current review explores the advancements, uses, and difficulties encountered by advanced hydroponic systems that utilize intelligent technologies. Compared to traditional farming methods, these systems allow farmers to maximize crop quality, maximize yields, and optimize resource utilization by integrating innovations like IoT, wireless sensor networks, and machine learning. In this review, various agricultural environments, intelligent hydroponic system architecture, control mechanisms, monitoring strategies, and performance evaluation are examined. In the face of global issues like population growth, climate change, and urbanization, it emphasizes the potential of these systems to support sustainability, resilience, and food security. In addition, it provides recommendations for future research directions while addressing obstacles such as initial investment costs, technical complexities, and data management issues. This review essentially provides insights into emerging and cutting-edge technologies.
