On Tuesday, the first day of Jumada II 1047 [October 21, 1637], corresponding to the 28th of Mihr, the first year of the second decade of the emperor’s reign began. The breeze of generosity began to blow; the bud of success blossomed; the hearts of the people of the world were as open as the hand of the liberal emperor. On this date the master of the falcons, Shahnawaz Khan, who had so well arranged a qa‘l hunt, the manner of which was described in a report in the eighth regnal year, was awarded a royal robe, a horse from the royal stable with a gilded saddle, and an elephant from the royal stable.
