In India, many livelihoods depend on agriculture, and due to the increasing population, conventional agriculture needs a paradigm shift towards Agriculture 4.0 or smart agriculture. This paper describes the need for smart agriculture and presents an ICT-based IoT–GNSS–GIS integrated system for autonomous field data collection and real-time display systems. The system is designed to detect and generate warnings about the threats to the yield of potatoes, a major cash crop in West Bengal. The model, implementation plan, and indicative results are presented. The concept would be useful for farming and environment-friendly agriculture through precision farming and efficient resource management.

摘要
