The agricultural sector encounters significant challenges in post-harvest storage, particularly with maintaining the quality and profitability of perishable crops like onions. Traditional storage methods are often inadequate in controlling essential environmental factors, such as temperature, humidity, and air quality, which leads to spoilage, odor issues, and financial losses. Recent advancements in Internet of Things (IoT) technology offer innovative solutions for addressing these challenges. By integrating IoT-enabled sensors and automated systems, it is possible to monitor and regulate storage conditions in real-time, extending the shelf life of produce and reducing spoilage. This paper explores the application of IoT in onion storage management, focusing on improving environmental control and maximizing profitability through data-driven decision-making. By leveraging smart technologies, the study demonstrates how IoT can transform post-harvest management practices, contributing to enhanced economic outcomes and sustainability in agriculture.
