The focus of this study is to evaluate the response of RC elevated rectangular water tanks to dynamic forces. These tanks, which have a significant volume of water resting on a slender framework, present a notable risk of failure during seismic events. Through the utilization of SAP software, tanks with various fill levels and standard staging heights are simulated. Our analysis encompasses three scenarios: full, empty, and one-third full tanks. Modal analysis, conducted in compliance with Indian standard code specifications, provides essential data including Base Shear and displacement for each fill condition. Furthermore, to assess the effectiveness of modal analysis, the time history analysis has been conducted using seismic data from the Bhuj earthquake. Remarkably, the tanks exhibit resilience against the seismic activity recorded, with displacements remaining within acceptable thresholds. Comparing peak displacements and base shear across analyses allows us to gain insights into how dynamic loads affect tanks under different fill conditions.

摘要
