In this chapter, we demonstrate the background and motivation of embodied multi-agent system. We explain the importance and challenges of embodied multi-agent collaboration. We also provide a survey of the current research progress including multi-agent strategy learning and multi-agent embodied tasks. Then we introduce the common simulation platforms that can support embodied multi-agent collaboration.
