Polyvinyl alcohol (PVA) based photopolymer with acrylamide (AA) monomer is extensively researched for holographic applications due to its high sensitivity, superior diffraction efficiency, and impressive dynamic range. Some PVA based red sensitive photopolymers with different dyes are developed for holographic applications. The effect of the cross-linker on the photopolymer composition has been examined. Holograms with about 75% diffraction efficiency are obtained. This material has broad potential for holographic applications and can be manufactured to commercial standards.
