Time Saving Synthesis Approach of WS2 Nanoparticles by Ethylene Glycol Assisted Solvothermal Method
摘要
Tungsten disulphide (WS2) is an emerging 2D transition metal dichalcogenide (TMDCs), explored widely due to its interesting optoelectronic and, thermal properties. This study reports synthesis attempt of WS2 using ethylene glycol medium with a reduced time period of 6 h at 170 ºC where predominantly it takes around 12–48 h in general. The formation of WS2 is confirmed using Raman spectroscopy and optical bandgap is calculated to be 2.1 eV from UV-Vis DRS spectroscopy. Morphological studies predominantly showed disrupted hexagonal morphology. This study can be further fine-tuned towards time saving synthesis approach of single phase WS2.
