Stick–Slip Vibration at High Sliding Velocity Between Soft Solid and Hard Surface
摘要
We study numerically stick–slip vibration between a soft solid block on hard substrate at high sliding velocity. Linear stability analysis reveals a critical velocity at which stick–slip behavior of the sliding system changes. The result is also confirmed by nonlinear stability of the governing equations. It is also observed that stick–slip vibration of constant amplitude occurs with time at a fixed pulling velocity in velocity weakening regime. At the end, practical significance of the present analysis is also discussed in view of tire–road interaction of vehicles.
