This chapter summarizes the use of regional feed resources in silage production and animal husbandry. In the context of silage production, it is essential to carefully select appropriate corn varieties for plateau forage silage. This selection must be accompanied by precise regulation of temperature, humidity, and fermentation conditions. The silage process for fruit residues, tea grounds, and bamboo can utilize either natural lactic acid bacteria or additional bacterial agents. Local agricultural by-products can be combined with other materials for silage production. The “maize-soybean strip intercropping” system yields silage maize biomass comparable to monoculture, while also providing additional soybean yield. High-quality silage significantly improves feed quality, optimizes nutritional composition, enhances nutrient intake of animals, and effectively promotes animal growth and production performance. This has important implications for the sustainable development of the livestock industry, as it increases feed conversion efficiency, reduces breeding costs, and enhances both the economic and ecological benefits of the livestock sector.

摘要
