WinRan: Securing Image in a Dual-Layered Image Steganography
摘要
Steganography and cryptography are mostly used together to bolster the security and privacy to data. Either of this data-securing methods has their individual challenges. The problem of cryptography is shrouded in the fact that even as a scrambled text is intercepted by an attacker, it elicits the search for possible means to decode the message, while the issue with steganography is that once the hidden file is extracted, the information embedded is to a high extent exposed. In our proposed model, cryptography and steganography are applied together to offer a high level of security to the embedded image. In the first instance, the secret image, thus, the image to be hidden is embedded behind another image known as the carrier or cover image. Then, in the second phase, before the secret or embedded image is viewed the legal user needs to use their private key to login into their account to extract the secret image. The dual security combination, thus, least significant bit and RSA for user authentication are engaged to upgrade image secrecy and security in the cloud. With this novel technology when the parameter results of UACI and PSNR Encryption Time among others are compared with other existing results, WinRan model outperforms them.
