Thermal protection coatings (TPCs) have been widely used in the supreme high temperature environment. This paper reviews the various type and preparation methods of TPCs. Many parameters need to meet the different requirement during the actual service process. Therefore, new multicomponent TPCs systems, functional integration design and large-area preparation methods call for urgent development.
