Comprehensive Approaches in Agricultural Policies for Sustainability: A Literature Review
摘要
One of the vital steps in constructing a comprehensive sustainable agricultural policy is to consult the literature within the scope. In this case, the present research aimed to establish the presence of actual research related to this area. To address this gap, a detailed review of publications indexed in the SCOPUS database was conducted using a variety of keywords related to agricultural policies. Some important criteria were used for data collection that would limit the search to scientific journals written in English. Additional filtering was performed by applying temporal filters, considering only articles published between 2017 and 2023. This approach ensured that the most up-to-date and relevant research was included in the analysis. Subsequently, the online tool called “biblioshiny”, which is part of the “bibliometrix” R Studio data processing package, was implemented to perform the analysis of the identified articles. This powerful tool allowed for a comprehensive examination of the collected data, enabling the identification of key trends, patterns, and insights within the literature. The findings of this literature review revealed a series of comprehensive studies conducted to establish a relationship between agricultural policies and sustainability. These studies highlighted the importance of integrating sustainability principles into agricultural practices and policies to ensure long-term viability and resilience of the agricultural sector. From this analysis, a coherent knowledge base has been created on what is happening in the field, which can be useful for tracking progress and priorities, as well as potential future research areas where important work still remains to be done. The knowledge base provides a solid foundation for policymakers, researchers, and practitioners to build upon and further advance the understanding of sustainable agricultural practices. It is recommended that sustainable agricultural policy should also be examined with respect to the development of new definitions and perspectives that can help determine the way forward in both research and application. This may involve exploring innovative approaches to agriculture, such as agroecology, precision farming, and regenerative agriculture, which prioritize environmental stewardship, social equity, and economic viability. Furthermore, it is crucial to consider the broader context in which sustainable agricultural policies are developed and implemented. This includes examining the social, economic, and political factors that influence agricultural practices and decision-making at various scales, from local communities to global markets. By adopting a holistic and interdisciplinary approach to sustainable agricultural policy, researchers and policymakers can better address the complex challenges facing the agricultural sector, such as climate change, biodiversity loss, and food insecurity. In conclusion, this literature review has provided valuable insights into the current state of research on sustainable agricultural policies. It has highlighted the need for continued efforts to integrate sustainability principles into agricultural practices and policies, as well as the importance of developing new definitions and perspectives to guide future research and application. By building upon this knowledge base and engaging in collaborative and interdisciplinary research, we can work towards a more sustainable and resilient agricultural system that benefits both people and the planet.
