This paper comprehensively applies seismic load calculations, finite element simulation, and modal analysis to explore the seismic performance of I-shaped and circular section column insulators under seismic dynamic loads. By comparing and analyzing, the study reveals the performance differences of insulators with different cross-sectional shapes in seismic de-sign, providing a scientific basis for the external insulation design of high-voltage DC converter stations.
