The Impact of Artificial Intelligence on Job Security and Affective Organizational Commitment: A Study of Software Companies in Vietnam
摘要
Under the recent massive tech layoff, artificial intelligence (AI) is believed to influence job opportunities, and likely to be related to layoff waves in technology sectors, especially in software development industry to some extent. Nowadays, people are seeking “a feeling of being secure” in the fast-changing working environment or “job security”. Thus, if people gain more AI skills, do they feel secure at work? And, if they feel secure, do they commit more to the organization? This study tries to examine the interplay between artificial intelligence, job security and affective organizational commitment in software companies in Vietnam. The research uses a quantitative approach by conducting survey on software companies in Vietnam. The study findings reveal the significant correlation between AI skills, job security and affective commitment.
