This study aims to create an online synchronous discussion environment through nonverbal communication. Nonverbal communication has a limit in online synchronous discussion because of restricted nonverbal sources compared to offline classroom discussions. This study investigates participants’ verbal and nonverbal communication patterns to resolve this. Then, categorizing common expressions that can be applicable as emojis, reactions, and chats. By addressing these issues, the study creates the natural flow of an online synchronous discussion environment.
