Research on 3DPC Construction Method for Structural High-Performance Component Generation

The building structure is the most material-intensive component of construction. Optimization can reduce material consumption and overall structural weight. Therefore, designing structures with a focus on structural performance is essential. The benefits of 3D concrete printing, such as increased design versatility and reduced material consumption, facilitate the adoption of performance-based design in construction. However, constraints persist between components designed for high structural performance and their construction, and a holistic approach to integrating design generation with construction remains lacking. This paper reviews recent construction cases, examines the constraints affecting the constructability of structural high-performance components, and proposes a set of process methods for their design and construction, these methods provide a foundation for expanding the buildability range of these components.
