Contamination of soil, water, and air has resulted in serious health issues in humans and the extinction of flora and fauna. Remediation of the toxic limits at a certain stage becomes either too costly or even a threat to other lives, posing a great challenge to survival. The answer, to how to remediate these, lies in the existence of plants, which can extract the hazardous toxic pollutants and sustain mother earth. Certain plants, by nature, are hyperaccumulators that bioaccumulate these chemicals effectively with varying degrees of remediation effects in different species. However, these toxic and heavy metals (HMs) cannot be depraved while all organic pollutants can, making them easy targets for phytoremediation. An enormous number of ornamental plant species have the ability to ingest pollutants, toxic metals, and contaminants due to anthropogenic responses to our environment. Remediation with ornamental plants (OPs) provides wildlife habitat and has significant public recognition and acceptance, despite being so cheap, sustainable, and environmentally sound solution for treating commercial trash in polluted areas.

摘要
