In recent years, Spanish universities are paying an increasing attention to teaching innovation projects and many scholars are participating in emerging conferences and books about teaching innovation. This research explores how these projects and publications deal with topics related to gender and sexuality, two issues particularly relevant in contemporary Western societies. Using as case studies the books about teaching innovation edited by the publishing house Dykinson, especially committed with the subject, we quantify how many of their chapters deal with gender and sexuality and how relevant these topics are in them, establishing a scale of relevance. The results are extremely low: gender is only taken into consideration in 16,22% of the papers and less than 1% of the 709 chapters deal with issues related to sexuality. This evinces that a higher commitment with such topics and perspectives should be developed in the following years in the Spanish teaching innovation projects.
