Languages are the linguistic channel through which students, teachers and researchers communicate their progress and knowledge to society. The main objective of this study is to analyse the evolution of languages in the scientific production of the University of Salamanca. The methodology applied was quantitative and qualitative, with a documentary research phase and a computer programming and statistical data processing phase. It is a case study, as the data obtained correspond to the Research Portal of the University of Salamanca for the years 1999 to 2023. The results show English as the predominant language in science communication and with more publications with impact in Journal Citation Reports (JCR) and SCImago Journal Rank (SJR) reflected in the USAL portal. With the diagnosis of this case, the research methods applied can be replicated to any other university that has its own scientific production portal and at the same time allows us to make a call to the current scientific ecosystem.
