Making-Do in Construction Project
摘要
The rapid development of construction makes construction actors always improve and make improvements to minimize losses related to problems that will occur. Waste is one of the problems in construction projects that cannot be avoided. Waste can be minimized to reduce the impacts caused. Work that can still be done even though the initial input is inappropriate or incomplete is called making-do. Making-do specifically appears in construction projects due to the unique nature of construction projects, high variability, and full uncertainty. The opportunity for the emergence of large making-do and the impact of making-do can give rise to other waste, so knowledge is needed regarding the types, causes, and impacts of making-do in the early stages. This initial research can be used to identify the types, causes, and impacts of the largest making-do that occurs in construction projects. Further research will describe the mechanism of making-do using correspondence analysis in construction in Indonesia. This is because construction projects in Indonesia are unique in terms of diverse types of workers, socio-economic environments, and cultural diversity.
