The Serang-Panimbang toll road project is a connector from the Jakarta-Merak toll road with a total length of 83.677 km, located in the province of Banten. The soil conditions on the Serang-Panimbang Toll Road Project, particularly at STA 20+400–20+700, consist of soft soil classified as clay, have long compression periods and low bearing capacity, thus requiring subgrade improvement to prevent settlement when the toll road becomes operational. One alternative method that can be used for soft soil problems, especially for clay soils, is using stone columns. The result of this paper is that the triangular installation pattern gives higher safety number (SF) results than the rectilinear installation pattern and varies the distance of the stone column model. This is more significant than changing the diameter of the stone column.
