A 56-year-old male patient, with a known case of chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD), presented with acute breathlessness, cough with an increase in expectoration, and low-grade fever. On examination, he was found to be in acute respiratory distress, with a respiratory rate (RR) of 28/min. He was using his accessory muscles, was slightly drowsy, and breath sounds were diminished on both sides.
