A 10-month-old female infant was diagnosed with Kawasaki disease due to fever for 1 week. She was admitted to our hospital for cardiac magnetic resonance (CMR) examination under sedation. Kawasaki disease is characterized by acute systemic vasculitis, including coronary artery lesions (15–25%), which can cause coronary artery dilation and aneurysm formation. The patients may die from coronary aneurysm rupture, thrombosis, myocardial infarction, or myocarditis. CMR evaluation of coronary arteries and myocardial perfusion is an appropriate noninvasive evaluation method. Optimization of sedative drugs and methods to improve the rate of successful sedation with fewer complications has now become an important link in the diagnosis of Kawasaki disease.
