One Way to Lessen Liquid Sloshing Is to Analyze the Inherent Frequencies Is an Overhead Double Baffle Damper by CFD

Different methods of anti-sloshes are proposed in our research to lessen the impact of sloshing on a gasoline tank. Sloshing refers to periodic oscillations of a liquid's free surface generated by external causes in a partially filled container. This work uses COMSOL Multiphysics 6.0 to do a numerical analysis, which is then compared to experimental results to validate the conclusions. The study used a rectangular fuel tank with water as the liquid medium. These studies were carried out to compute the liquid—free surface displacement based on the static mean level, pressure, velocity, stress, shell shape, mesh convergence, thickness, and orientation generated on the surface. The sloshing impact on tanks with and without baffles, as well as various baffle shapes, was examined using simulations. The liquid interface modeling shows that adding baffles to the tank considerably lowers sloshing. The crisscross baffle has the best dampening effect of any feasible configuration.
