Visual thinking skills are an important tool for both teachers and students in the classroom. These skills enable the learners to store and recall the information as images and helps them to organize the ideas graphically. Visual thinking ability helps learners to activate their working memory and systematize the thoughts stored in their long-term memory by visually processing them. Visual literacy along with verbal thinking improves the learner’s overall competence in understanding and interpreting visual cues and communicating the same in an effective manner. In this line, this chapter explores the potential use of text-based animated videos to enhance the visual thinking skills of English literature students which in turn improve the students’ literary sensibility. It also concentrates on how visual thinking skills and visual thinking strategies can be applied in the English literature classroom in order to expose digital natives to digital learning environment in a regular learning context. Further this approach can be useful in motivating and engaging students who struggle with traditional teaching method of English literary texts and may benefit from more visually stimulating and interactive learning experiences.
