Red Palm Weevil [RPW] is one of the nightmares of coconut palm farmers. It is creating menace both at household level and national level. Experienced hands turn out to be the pre-requisite for the early detection of RPW. Most of the techniques incorporated in agriculture sector to tackle this problem run around the famous Integrated Pest Control [IPC] technique. Artificial Intelligence based problem analysis can be incorporated in this area to overrule the human senses. Various technologies used to tackle this problem are explained in the paper.
