Adoption of Intelligent Decision Support System Amongst Small and Medium Enterprises in Mauritius
摘要
This study seeks to investigate the adoption of intelligent decision support systems (IDSS) in small and medium enterprises (SMEs) in a small island developing state. An extended technology acceptance model and technology, organisation and environment framework was employed. Partial least squares were used to analyse the collected data. The findings from a cross-sectional survey of 100 SMEs show that organisational competency, management support and perceived usefulness are not significantly related to behavioural intention. The results also demonstrate that competitive advantage, government support and perceived ease of use contribute positively to the intention to adopt intelligent decision support systems. Government support plays a crucial role in encouraging SMEs to adopt IDSS by providing training and support with implementing the system. A pilot implementation within a specific department can be initiated allowing SMEs to observe how IDSS improves their decision-making process and business operations.
