Blogs/personal spaces serve as platforms for individuals to share personal thoughts publicly. Social networking sites expand users’ social networks and increase social capital. The decentralized nature of microblogs plays a mobilizing and organizing role. The characteristics of WeChat include real-time information sending and communication. Search engines (mainly referring to human search) can disclose privacy and facilitate public opinion supervision. Establishing websites allows for news publication and functions as online non-governmental organizations.
