ASEAN: A Key Hub for International Logistics and Cross-Border Trade
摘要
This chapter examines ASEAN’s role as a key hub for international logistics and cross-border trade, emphasizing its strategic position in regional and global supply chains. The discussion is structured around four major aspects.First, ASEAN’s emergence as a logistics hub is analyzed through the development of rail freight and air routes, which enhance trade efficiency and connectivity across the region. These transportation networks are crucial in strengthening economic ties between China and ASEAN. Second, the chapter highlights Vietnam’s role as a key trade corridor, serving as a bridge for trade flows between China and ASEAN countries, facilitating seamless cross-border commerce. Third, ASEAN-Chongqing cooperation is explored as a new driver for logistics growth, focusing on the China-Singapore (Chongqing) Demonstration Initiative and the New International Land-Sea Trade Corridor. These initiatives have accelerated regional logistics integration. Finally, the chapter examines the ASEAN-Yunnan-Guangxi connectivity model, showcasing successful regional logistics cooperation and infrastructure development that further boosts China-ASEAN economic ties. Through these discussions, the chapter provides insights into ASEAN’s expanding role in global trade networks and its growing interconnectivity with China’s logistics infrastructure.
