In the realm of music education and practice, technological advancements have ushered in innovative solutions to address the evolving needs of musicians. Yet, one area that remains unexplored in this aspect is Indian classical music. There are various concerns that the pristine artform faces today, the prime concern being the dying guru Shishya Parampara and their practice techniques. Hence, this research aims to look at prospective solutions to develop a holistic experiential and educative medium to propagate and preserve Indian classical music while ensuring the following factors: Accessibility, Standardization, Authenticity, and Appeal. This paper proposes insights to visually represent pedagogical parameters, offering interfaces that facilitate convenient tracking of rhythmic and melodic elements. Employing the Stanford School of Design’s methodology, prospective product designs have been presented, merging traditional practices with contemporary approaches by using various design tools to gain insights from the perspective of each stakeholder involved. Aligning with intuitive design guidelines, the proposed designs are rigorously tested using Heuristic Testing. The paper will finally conclude by summarizing results, drawing insights, and discussing the potential scope of the results gained. The paper will document the complete process of creating this digital platform and the underlying UX study, tools chosen, experiments designed, and methodologies applied to collect and incorporate the data to create low and mid-level fidelity prototypes suitable for testing.
