Digital Illustrations in Email Marketing: Implications for Financial Products
摘要
This paper aims at assessing the effectiveness of digital illustration for financial email marketing and at building a new consumer-oriented design framework that balances interests between consumers and financial institutions. This study will be a sequential mixed-method approach underpinned by the elaboration likelihood model, technology acceptance model, and visual communication theory within a quantitative analysis of email campaign data over six months with in-depth qualitative input from consumer surveys and interviews. This paper goes beyond the basic recording of these impacts to a new paradigm in which personal, interactive digital illustration reduces cognitive load while it creates emotional involvement. Thus, on this basis, the paradigm shift may insinuate that with strategic employment, digital illustration can match consumer comprehension with the objectives of financial institutions in marketing during email campaigns, leading to increased productivity and product engagement. This study puts into perspective some workable insights for marketers on how they can strategically apply digital illustrations, from a design perspective, to drive better engagement and conversion rates in financial email marketing.
