‘The relationship between Artificial Intelligence and User Experience can be viewed as a cause-effect reciprocity’ [1]. The integration of Artificial Intelligence (AI) and Machine Learning (ML) into User Experience (UX) design has the potential to revolutionize the way we create and interact with digital products. This research paper explores the historical evolution, as well as the current state of collaboration between AI, ML, and UX design, highlighting the challenges and opportunities that arise from this intersection. Through a systematic literature review, we identify key themes in the existing research on AI and UX design. We find that AI is being used to enhance various aspects of the UX design process, including understanding user requirements, aiding solution design, and evaluating designs. However, there is a need for better communication strategies to bridge the gap between AI and UX practitioners, as well as a focus on maintaining human creativity in the design process. Our findings suggest that AI and ML can significantly improve user experiences by providing personalized recommendations, optimizing information architecture, and enhancing decision-making processes. In conclusion, this research paper provides a comprehensive overview of the current state of collaboration between AI, ML, and UX design. It highlights the potential benefits of integrating these technologies into the design process, while also addressing the challenges that arise from this intersection. By understanding the current landscape and exploring potential solutions, we aim to contribute to the ongoing conversation about the future of AI and UX design.
