The ancient and most intricate form of Indian embroidery is Chikankari, which belongs to Lucknow and has beautiful craftsmanship. It is famous for white-on-white work with various stitch types and motifs. For this paper, we have chosen iconic motifs—the paisley, Carrie, or buteh. The paisley motif plays a vital role in Chikankari with its significant and symbolic importance we will be emphasizing the artistic and cultural importance of this motif, the process of development of the motif on a wooden block, transferring this motif through blue ink on fabric, and also as an outcome we will design three dreamcatchers that have jali and other intricate stitches. For the product’s development, we have conducted consumer surveys with Google Forms to evaluate the market potential of developing products, and we have 70% positive responses from 185 consumers. In conclusion, the study claims that the paisley motif of Chikankari plays an essential role in the rich heritage of Indian craftsmanship and cultural continuity.
