Kathputli, the puppet show, is one of the most famous traditional Indian handicrafts. It is performed by artisans for their livelihood. Artisans itinerated for performing shows, presenting folk tales and mythological stories with the help of puppets decorated with paint, jewellery, and colourful clothes. These puppet shows are enjoyed by people of almost every age group, especially children. Due to the busy lifestyles of parents nowadays, the young Indian population is not usually introduced to traditional games and art forms. Puppetry is one of the widely liked performing art form amongst many other similar art forms. A trend shows that most of the younger population are users of immersive gaming platforms for entertainment. This research paper aims to preserve and rejuvenate “Rajasthani Kathputli,” the culturally rich Indian art and craft tradition, with the help of a digital intervention. The design thinking process is proposed to revive the Rajasthani Kathputli handicraft sector through an e-commerce platform that will eventually benefit all the stakeholders. Features like an interactive interface, gamified craft version, and DIY tutorials will help attract young children with the added application of therapy. Subsequently, it will be helpful to sensitize them towards ancient Indian traditional arts and crafts. Through the e-commerce feature, artisans can sell souvenirs to art consumers, and shows can be booked online. Consequently, its various features will help contemporaries the art and increase its popularity and awareness. Eventually, digital technology intervention will help artisans have a better livelihood.
