Integrating Design Thinking into Supply Chain Management: A Comprehensive Exploration of Agility Dimensions
摘要
In an era where market dynamics are rapidly evolving, integrating design thinking into supply chain management emerges as a pivotal strategy to enhance agility dimensions, enabling organisations to adapt and thrive in the face of continuous change swiftly. This study aims to connect design thinking and supply chain management (SCM) by examining aspects of agility in a supply chain using design thinking principles. The chapter considers the various dimensions of supply chain management: alertness, accessibility, cost-effectiveness, customer focus, decisiveness, flexibility, partnership, proactiveness, quickness, responsiveness, robustness, and swiftness; and also covers the facets of the design thinking framework, including understanding, observing, viewpoint, ideation, prototype, and testing for enhancing the overall agility within supply chains. The chapter aims to optimise the supply chain agility dimensions by integrating design thinking techniques. This study presents an all-inclusive framework that facilitates innovation-driving practices for modernised carriers within the global supply chain management (SCM) sphere. Moreover, the research findings anticipate contributing significantly to advancing design thinking methodologies and supply chain agility strategies.
