Growing tourist interest in heritage tourism, and particularly archaeological sites, poses various challenges for effectively converting cultural heritage sites into tourist attractions. Interpreting and presenting these relics to tourists involves more than mere storytelling; it must be engaging, providing unique and enriching experiences for visitors. This chapter examines visitor experiences with the interpretation and presentation of Thang Long Imperial Citadel, a UNESCO World Heritage Site in Vietnam. Sources of data included field observations and a survey measuring domestic visitor perceptions, motivations, and attitudes associated with various on-site experiences (N = 107). Results indicate the necessity for diversity in the interpretation and presentation of heritage that aligns with the diverse needs of tourists. These findings underscore the importance of interpretation and presentation at archaeological heritage sites to ensure satisfactory visitor experiences and effectively communicate the unique value of archaeological heritage in Vietnam and globally.
