Transmission systems are under increased strain as a result of increased loads and inter-utility power transfers. Because of voltage instability and collapse challenges, the efficient operation of the power system is becoming increasingly threatened as the system grows in size. In this article, power voltage curve is drawn for various load power factor conditions, which is beneficial in determining power system stability. The voltage profile of buses is analyzed with power voltage curves, and the impact of contingency due to line outages is also discussed. Voltage stability indices are also used to indicate system stability state under various operating scenarios. Analysis is carried out on the IEEE 9 bus system (western system coordinating council test case).

摘要
