This study investigates the stylistic imagery of Min-Tai puppet heads, aiming to explore the relationship between their visual features and the psychological perceptions of viewers. Using factor analysis and triangular fuzzy numbers, the research was conducted in stages, including preparation, audience surveys, image evaluation, and result analysis. From 120 imagery terms, 16 key adjectives were identified and categorized into four groups: “Sacred and Majestic,” “Brave and Tense,” “Bizarre and Fierce,” and “Elegant and Luxurious.“ Analysis of 12 puppet head samples showed small differences in the “Sacred and Majestic” and “Elegant and Luxurious” imagery, while larger differences appeared in “Brave and Tense” and “Bizarre and Fierce.” The findings offer a scientific framework for puppet design and contribute to the innovation and preservation of Min-Tai cultural and puppet art heritage.
